Our Danish Guests

Adrian Chimsac

It was the 20th of October .The sun was hidden behind a strong army of clouds. It was a rainy day. The weather didn’t side with us.
However we had a great opportunity to meet teachers from Denmark, a beautiful country.
The reason for which they came to our country, in our college was well grounded, so that we gathered together in the festive hall to learn things about their country, about the Danish system of education, etc.
We live in a big world where problems are coming up daily.
Everywhere we look we are surrounded by a lot of things that must be well known by each of us. To know a foreign language, to know the customs and traditions of a country, it is a real advantage for us.
The Danish teachers have shown us how they work every day with their students. My opinion is that their educational system is interesting.
The Danish Efterskole is a unique Danish residential school, where students can choose how to finish their primary education. I’ve found out that in Denmark there are many private schools that offer the same subjects and final examination as the public schools.
Common educational purpose is to deal with educational and personal development of the students, so that the pupils have a positive relationship to the teachers. This means that teachers and students are together all day from the time the students wake up until they go to bed, so that pupils could really develop their mind.
In Denmark students are being involved in a lot of activities like singing, cooking, horse riding and many like this. In this way they show the best part of their artistic and competitive character, they can demonstrate their skills.
My opinion is that this activity managed to achieve a wonderful communication between us and the Danish teachers. We learnt how to receive and give respect for human beings.
This activity was also a great opportunity for us to think to our future. Certainly that at the end of the high school we will be able to keep on schooling in other countries in order to improve our knowledge, to prepare for life. In my point of view Denmark could be an alternative.

Fiameta Fancsali :
Curiosity…I always wondered how students from other countries learn, how many hours they spend at school, how many activities are in their school, so…what’s different from us?!
Although I had been involved in many projects which helped me discover some countries, to be for a week a student in those countries, I always wanted to know more and more…That’s why I was looking forward to meeting our guests from Denmark.
Danish school…Danish life…Danish people...All these made us so curious. I can say that it was the first time when I talked to a Danish. Even if I didn’t ask more, I listened every answer, ‘cause it gave us useful information, useful especially for the future. It’s different! Danish are different!
I can say that it was the most interesting activity until now, ‘cause we had the opportunity to learn more about the educational system from another country, to learn something about that country, the sites, the language, the traditions and to improve our English. The activity showed us the importance of English, of education…
P.S.: Denmark has the best caramels!

Andra Coţ:
First of all I have never participated in a project like this before ,so I was happy to be involved. The teachers seemed to be wonderful people but for me the most interesting part was the one about the Danish afterschool, because in Romania there aren't such schools.
Also, among them there was an ex-student of our highschool who is now a teacher in Danmark. Her success motivated me to improve my English and apply for a scolarship in another country.
I am happy that I met people from other places and I would like to get involved in more projects like this.

Adrian Chimsac:
I enjoyed this exchange of experience!

FARCASANU BOGDAN :
I’d been to many places in my life so far,but yesterdayI learned about another beautiful country. That country is Denmark.
At school we had the opportunity to discuss with teachers from Denmark.
Those teachers showed us many things. The most interesting thing was their school. They have a wonderful school but they also have many sports activities. The most attractive of all is riding horses.I would love to ride a horse, and also I would love to have more sports activities in my school. I would be delighted if my school would organize a trip to Denmark. If this happens I will be very happy to participate with my class.I especially want to thank my school and my English teacher for this opportunity.Thank you all.God bless everybody, but do not forget the trip at the EFTERSKOLE in Denmark.Have a nice day.
